SUPPORT INFORMATION
 
Support
 
  • WRASAC offers one to one, telephone, letter or e-mail support at a time that suits both you and your support worker.

  • The Helpline is open Monday 12pm-2pm, Tuesday 10am-12pm, Thursday 2pm-4pm Wednesday and Friday 7pm-9pm. An answering machine is available out with these times. All messages are returned discreetly and as soon as possible.

  • The Centre runs support groups from time to time. If you would be interested in joining a support group or would like more information let your support worker know.

  • Support sessions last about one hour and are by appointment only. We do not offer a drop in facility · If you want to bring someone with you for support that is okay with us providing it is a woman and you inform us. It is better to see your support worker on your own.

  • If you can't keep an appointment, please let us know and feel free to phone us back to re-arrange.

  • If you require travel, childcare/dependent care costs please let your support worker know.

Confidentiality
 
  • We do keep names, addresses and telephone numbers of women who currently use the Centre but these are kept locked away and in line with data protection policy. Any other information that is kept is anonymous and for our statistics.

  • Our address is confidential as is the identity of all the women who use the centre and we ask you to respect this. This is for the protection of all the women who use the centre.

  • We will not speak to, for example, your G.P, CPN, go to the police or appear in court, unless we have written consent from you (ask your worker for a consent to liase form).
 
There are exceptions to this policy where we cannot guarantee your confidentiality, These are;
  • If you disclose you are abusing a child (WRASAC Child Protection Policy)

  • If you are using illegal drugs on WRASAC premises.

  • If you are found to be selling drugs on WRASAC premises

  • If you are violent or verbally abusive towards a collective worker or any other person/s on WRASAC premises.

  • If you steal or destroy Centre or an individuals property at the centre.

  • If you are planning a suicide that would place a child or dependent in danger.

  • If you are abusing a dependent.

  • If you plan to deliberately harm or endanger someone's life.

 

Child Protection

Under our Child Protection Policy, if you tell us that you are abusing a child we cannot keep this confidential and it will be necessary for us to pass this information on to the relevant agencies. We would try not to take any course of action without informing you first.

 

Other
 
  • We ask that you do not deliberately harm yourself during support sessions.

  • We ask all service users to take away and complete a service evaluation.

  • You have the right to change your support worker if you feel you are not compatible.
You can make a complaint about any aspect of our service by writing to the WRASAC Management Committee at WRASAC, PO Box 83, Dundee, DD1 4YZ and mark the envelope 'Private and Confidential'. You will be kept informed as to the procedure and the result of the complaint.
